Andorran Court of Arbitration:
In June the government, at the request of the Andorran Minister of Justice, has authorized the start of sittings of the new Andorran Court of Arbitration. The Court will work with the existing mediation system to provide litigants with an alternative dispute resolution system to enable disputes being resolved quickly without recourse to the judicial process. The aim is to provide a robust and effective mechanism to resolve national and international trade disputes.

Data Protection - Video surveillance:
New Regulations have been approved to govern the installation and use of both public and private surveillance systems which must comply with the existing Qualified Law on Public Security. The Regulations provide for the operation of a National Video Surveillance Commission to review and report on such systems and report to the Ministry of the Interior. All surveillance systems are required to be authorized, both permanent and temporary, and registered by the Ministry of the Interior, the only exception being surveillance of private space not open to the public.

Digital Access:
The government is continuing the policy of the digital transformation of the Andorran administration which it considers to be essential part of public services to citizens and residents alike. As part of the policy a number of contracts have been awarded to improve the system to a ‘citizen centered design methodology’ in which ‘the citizen is the centre of the digital services of government’.
