Andorra Updates - Infrastructure Investment

16/10/2018
The regional government of Catalonia is expected to approve a new electronic landing system at the airport at Andorra La Seu to improve access to the Principality. Reports are being prepared which consider the possibility of the construction of a new international airport that could accept transatlantic flights to open the country’s horizons beyond the EU. In addition the government is looking to improve access by helicopter with a review of four possible sites for new heliports.

The Andorran Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services continues to work towards the implementation of a rail link between Andorra, France and the Catalonia region of Spain, together with the French national rail operator SNCF.

The government is committed to improving access while acknowledging that such projects do not often generate consensus. As the projects will take time to implement the government will continue to improve the existing infrastructure.
